A calm choice for coastal conditions
Homes near Carmel Point and the beach deal with damp air, wet dogs after a stroll on the sand and winter rain tracked through the door. LVP's waterproof core stays stable through all of it, with no cupping or swelling.
The best planks now feature subtle, low-gloss textures in oak and ash tones that sit comfortably in a cottage setting. They read as natural rather than flashy, which is exactly what Carmel interiors prefer.
Kitchens, baths and lower levels
Some of the most common LVP installs we see are in kitchens, bathrooms and garden-level rooms where moisture risk is higher. Waterproof planks let you use the same look from room to room without worrying about leaks.
For a unified design, we can run one plank through connecting spaces and add subtle transitions only where they're needed. See our [luxury vinyl plank](/luxury-vinyl-plank) page for broader style options.
What LVP costs in Carmel
Installed on the Central Coast, luxury vinyl plank generally costs about $6 to $12 per square foot. Thickness, wear layer, built-in underlayment and the level of subfloor prep decide where a project lands.
Small Carmel rooms can involve more cuts per square foot, and we're open about that in your quote. You'll see materials, labor, prep, trim and removal broken out clearly.
Installation from start to finish
We begin with a free in-home visit, measuring and checking the subfloor, then leaving you with a written quote. Samples are placed on your actual floor so you can judge them in natural light.
On the install date we protect furniture, take up the old floor, level the subfloor and lay planks with staggered seams. We finish with trim and transitions and walk through the result together. Learn more about [flooring installation](/flooring-installation).
Working respectfully in Carmel's homes
Carmel's cottages are cherished, often with narrow entries and limited parking. We plan deliveries, cover the path from door to room and keep dust and noise low. If an HOA or design reviewer needs product specs, we supply them.
Small gestures, like removing shoes at the threshold and sweeping each evening, are how we show respect for your home.
